An Inagural Afternoon!
Posted on: November 12, 2019, by : Board MembersThe Mildred and Jube Foundation Inc., a nonprofit organization devoted to investing in education, healthcare and the arts, held its inaugural charity event from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on November 3, 2019 at Burgundy Farm Country Day School in Alexandria.
The event was hosted by Brittany Johnson, former Social Media Producer for WRC-TV in Washington, D.C. and currently the Co-Host of “The Oh My Goff Show” alongside WTTG-TV news anchor Angie Goff.
The MJFI seeks to make collective giving more impactful than ever by focusing on assisting progressive and independent educational institutions as well as small and medium sized community-based organizations working to improve healthcare and promote the arts.
The foundation is named after former Alexandria public school teacher Mildred Shiver and her husband, Jube, who left teaching in 1964 and went on to become one of the most important real estate developers of his time, building more than 100 homes, churches and commercial buildings across three states and the District of Columbia.
